"Silent Envoys"

Sandra has always been fascinated by myths, legends, faery, New Age and Old Age philosophies. This interest combined with her love of unusual embroidery techniques and fabric usage has developed to provide the foundation  for her "Silent Envoys".

Sandra's work evolves to combine all of her beliefs, being interwoven into the fabrics, artifacts, belongings and personality of each individual Envoy and its Hive Myth.

Having studied on the Design Craft Degree Course at Cumbria College of Art and Design has enabled Sandra to set up and from her home-based studio produce her Silent Envoys.

The Envoys are produced from combinations of papier-mâché, air-drying clay, porcelain, paper clay, calico; with posable bodies of calico stuffed with polyester wadding. They range in size from 25cm (10in) seated to 81cm (32in) standing.
