Marian's dollmaking began after meeting fellow BDA member, Fadila Sqalli, at the Guildford Adult Education Centre. After some experimentation she decided to concentrate on sculpting one-of-a-kind Filipino dolls to reflect the rich culture of her motherland. She works in both air-drying and Cernit clays.

She would like to develop her skill in sculpting portrait dolls of Filipino nationalists, past and present, famous and infamous, and bring their legends and folklore to life.

She feels there are so many dolls in her waiting to come out, so many visions to create, and the world to share them with. She has only just begun!

Dolls range from 30cm (12in) to 38cm (15in) in height.
